CIP Finishes is proud to provide a safe, functional, beautiful space for first responders in Arlington. We installed 48 wardrobe lockers and accessories for firefighters this summer in the Highlands development in Rosslyn, partnering with general contractor Whiting-Turner. Arlington County firefighters moved into the new, permanent Fire Station 10 at the base of the development in late August.
In a news report about the station’s opening, Fire Chief David Povlitz said, “We cannot say thank you enough for all who have designed, funded, and built the station.”
Lt. Nathaniel Hiner, a spokesman for the department, described the facility in-full: “This is a world-class facility that will allow our members to serve the community for many generations to come, while providing our firefighters a safe and comfortable work location. The station incorporates many modern design features that improve responder turnout, safety, health, and wellness.”
Passersby will notice the station for its sleek design, brick façade, and the 35-foot-tall sculpture of a water hose in bronze with steel “water” spirals emanating from it. It’s a design that fits its use: commemorating the brave first responders who put their lives on the line every day.
CIP Finishes has worked in the residential and common-use spaces of the Highlands, as well, and we are excited to see the full development open this fall.
